Monday, March 25

After our late night, we slept in and didn’t get ready to leave until close to 10am (following a lack of hot water and an okay breakfast at our hotel). I noticed a line queueing in front of our ground floor windows, and it turned out to be the line for the British Museum around the corner! We learned that we were in London at the busiest time of year, and that the museum had been closed the day before due to protests. We investigated the line a bit and and decided to head to the Tower of London instead.

We spent 2-3 around in and around the Tower of London, including Tower Bridge. The highlight of our visit to the Tower of London was the uniformed tour guide that we learned actually lives at the Tower with her 30 tour-guide colleagues. We meandered in and around a few buildings before heading to the subway and getting a somewhat disappointing late lunch at a multi-ethnic food hall near our hotel.

We chilled in our room for a couple hours (Dan fell asleep) then took a double-decker bus to drop Tammy off to see Moulin Rouge, a highlight of the trip and early birthday present. From there, Noah and Dan headed to Harrod’s and Waterstone bookstore, then a great pizza restaurant, before dropping Noah off at the hotel and Dan walking to the theater to retrieve Tammy. It was a great day!
